Job Description
PPG IS LOOKING TO HIRE A PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST TO JOIN OUR OPPERATIONS TEAM!
Professional Plumbing Group (PPG) is an agile, solution-oriented organization offering the highest level of customer care and solutions to the plumbing industry. We are seeking a result-driven Procurement Specialist to oversee our products and inventory management through the complete production cycle in our Materials Management.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Schedule and coordinate products through the complete production cycle
- Resolve problems with inventory, production schedules or materials shortages and recommends procedures to avoid future problems.
- Forecast inventory requirements and report on trends
- Communicate and coordinate with factory manufacturers to ensure a continuous supply of the product, meeting quality and delivery standards
- Utilizing ERP knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing a strategic and optimal supply chain for material needed for production planning.
- Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining the accuracy of Procurement and related Master data in the ERP system
- Set up inventory goals and monitor, with input from appropriate stakeholders
- Develop action plans and countermeasures with planner/buyers, development and factory teams for inventory control
- Participate in initiate continuous improvement
- May coordinate and supervise the integration of new production cells from one location to other
- Establish and maintain standard work and/or consistent training in the materials team
WHAT YOU NEED:
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or related field, preferred
- Minimum of two years of procurement experience
- Strong analytical ability and acumen to deconstruct and solve complex business problems
- ERP experience, preferably with A/X
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of Access databases, preferred
- Excellent communication skills to work confidently with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of lean concepts
- Commitment to continued education in purchasing/planning and supply chain
