Pay Range: $45 - $52 ST (OT Eligible)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and enforce safety protocols on a large-scale solar farm project in Charles City, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar farm safety management, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and site-specific safety requirements. This position offers a long-term contract opportunity with competitive pay and overtime eligibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor and ensure proper use of PPE, fall protection, and other safety measures.
- Collaborate with construction managers, subcontractors, and site personnel to maintain safety standards.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including training records and incident reports.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and client representatives on safety compliance matters.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in safety management on large-scale solar farm projects.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, NFPA, and environmental health and safety regulations.
- NFPA 70E
- Experience developing and implementing site-specific safety plans.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety audits.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite full-time for the contract duration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification strongly preferred.
- Experience working on utility-scale solar projects.
- OSHA 500/510 certification a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
