Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Utility Safety Professional to oversee the safety of approximately five projects involving substation safety, high voltage transmission, and distribution (T&D). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of substation safety protocols and experience working on gas & electric property is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor safety programs for multiple substation and T&D projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and client-specific safety regulations.
- Lead safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and employee orientation programs.
- Investigate safety incidents, compile reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Enforce safety policies, including PPE usage and worksite hazard identification.
- Maintain accurate documentation of safety procedures, training, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and safety personnel to uphold industry best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of T&D safety experience (required).
- Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of substation safety protocols and high-voltage safety standards.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification (required); OSHA 500/510 (preferred).
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: $55 - $60/hr ST (OT available).
