Job Responsibilities
Safety Oversight: Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements for deep excavation activities. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
Training and Communication: Conduct daily tailboard meetings to reinforce safety practices and protocols. Provide safety training specific to deep excavation and pipeline construction for all on-site personnel.
Incident Management: Develop and implement emergency response plans tailored to deep excavation risks. Investigate any incidents or near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident investigations. Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with project leadership and crews to foster a safety-conscious culture. Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Job Qualifications
Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification required.
Minimum of 10 years of dedicated safety experience, with the majority focused on deep excavation projects.
Confirmable project references demonstrating expertise in excavation safety management.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, particularly those relevant to trenching and excavation.
Availability to work night shifts (7:00 PM to 5:00 AM).
