Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist with expertise in High Voltage Electrical (HVE) overhead safety. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in transmission and distribution (T/D) operations and a proven track record in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist with expertise in High Voltage Electrical (HVE) overhead safety. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in transmission and distribution (T/D) operations and a proven track record in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety protocols specific to HVE overhead operations.
- Conduct site audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards.
- Oversee and guide teams working on T/D projects to ensure proper safety practices are followed.
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to field personnel on safety procedures and best practices for high-voltage and overhead line work.
- Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and supervisors to proactively address safety challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training sessions.
- Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the organization remains in compliance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in T/D operations, with a focus on HVE overhead safety.
- Proven expertise in safety management, particularly in the utility, renewable energy, or construction sectors.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E standards, and utility industry safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and train teams effectively.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30/OSHA 510, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience in managing large crews (e.g., 70 employees) and high-output projects (e.g., 10,000 panel installations/day) is a plus.
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects (e.g., solar installation) is an advantage.
