Key Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams (including cross-border operations) to analyze manufacturing process costs.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives and provide actionable insights through financial analysis.
- Own the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) function, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and trend reporting.
- Collaborate with operations and materials management to ensure accurate product costing and conduct inventory audits.
- Assist in preparing plans of action based on financial data to support strategic decisions.
- Take ownership of the COGS portion of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Provide monthly analysis of gross margins and COGS in narrative and metric form.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings, journal entries, account analysis, and external audits.
What We’re Looking For
- Cost Accounting Expertise: 5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing Industry Knowledge: Understanding of lean manufacturing processes and their impact on cost.
- Financial Acumen: Experience with COGS, variance analysis, and financial reporting, with strong skills in forecasting and budget management.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and financial analytics tools.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CMA certification preferred).
Pay range and compensation package
Salary: $96,000 - $115,000 per year
