Position Overview
As a Benefits Specialist, you'll work directly with individuals referred through the Division of Aging, Disability, and Behavioral Health Services (DADBHS), guiding them through eligibility, application, and appeals processes for local, state, and federal benefits.
Key Responsibilities

Educate and counsel consumers on public benefits programs

Assist with applications and eligibility evaluations

Represent clients in administrative appeals under attorney direction

Provide outreach and public education

Maintain accurate records and documentation
-
Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards

Collaborate with legal advisors, county officials, and community partners
What You Bring
-
Bachelor's degree (preferably in human services) or RN license
-
At least one year of experience with aging adults or individuals with disabilities (internships/volunteering count)

Knowledge of public benefits programs is a strong plus

Strong communication and organizational skills

Cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion

Confidence in using Microsoft Office and standard office equipment

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
