Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the building manager, the Occupational Therapist (OTR or COTA) is responsible for diagnosing (OTR), treating, and/or discharging individuals that are medically prescribed evaluations and/or treatment in the area of Occupational Therapy.

This position may be filled by either a Full Time Hourly Employee or a Per Diem Employee
Essential Functions:
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct evaluations as assigned utilizing a variety of standardized testing materials
Provides research-based specialized interventions to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each treatment plan
Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable patients to meet their goals.
Work cooperatively with the patient’s team and others in developing instructional goals and strategies.
Coordinates the delivery of Occupational Therapy services in each treatment plan
Monitor progress of goals and make modifications to treatment plan as seen fit
Manage data and prepare reports as needed regarding clients progress
Prepare reports regarding program effectiveness
Oversee student therapists
Sign off on COTA notes and complete COTA supervision (if applicable)
Complete evaluations in a timely manner (if applicable)
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (OTR or COTA) from an accredited College
- New Jersey State License in Occupational Therapy through Division of Consumer Affairs
- Licensure through American Occupational Therapy Association
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of Occupational Therapy
- Thorough knowledge of center rules, regulations and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior.
- Ability to deliver and articulate presentations and reports.
- Ability to effectively analyze needs and problems objectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff, administration and the public.
- Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish objectives.
- Knowledge of relevant technology.
- Knowledge and skills in working with children who may have behavior and emotional disabilities.
- Must have the proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds.
The candidate MUST be a current license as an Occupational Therapist/ COTA
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week
