Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Optical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their optical needs, providing exceptional service, and ensuring the accurate fitting of eyewear. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales and a passion for helping others improve their vision.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in selecting eyewear that meets their needs and preferences.
- Conduct preliminary assessments.
- Utilize retail math to manage inventory and assist with sales transactions.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling patient information.
- Operate optical equipment and systems effectively, including Epic for patient management.
- Perform front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace, adhering to aseptic techniques as required.
- Provide education to patients regarding eyewear care and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or a similar customer service role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of optical systems and equipment is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with patients in a fast-paced environment.
