QC Technician- Panel Shop Projects
Job Summary:
As a QC Technician working under the direction of a PF3100 QC Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products and projects developed by Profire’s Field Applications Team meet high quality standards as established by the R&D and QC Engineering teams. This is accomplished at Profire’s Lindon UT warehouse location by utilizing test and inspection methodologies in areas such as low-voltage wiring & circuitry, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. QC Technicians will work closely with the Field Applications team (responsible for project design & documentation), the Operations team (responsible for assembling control panels and fuel skids), and the Sales Team (responsible for establishing customer requirements such as project schedules, install specifications, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and shipping/install schedules).
Between projects, and as time allows, QC Technicians should assist other QC team members with their duties such as providing PF3100 technical support, testing other Profire products, or assisting with returns and warranty claims. You may also be occasionally asked to assist with assembling PF3100 related products after receiving appropriate training.
Job Duties:
- Conduct Incoming Quality Control (“IQC”) tests and inspections on Profire products, such as in-house custom-built control panels involving Profire’s PF3100 Burner Management System and related components.
- Conduct Outgoing Quality Control (“OQC”) tests and inspections for any projects built by Profire Energy.
- Assist the PF3100 QC Lead with conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) supported by Profire’s Field Applications, Sales, Service, and Operations teams to meet customer requirements.
- Assist the PF3100 QC Lead with monitoring the PF3100 Panel Shop program and control the application of rating plate labels in accordance with third party certification requirements.
- Create QC records, data books, and other documentation as required.
- Recommend and implement Corrective Actions to meet high quality standards.
- Assist with diagnosing warranty claims, performing periodic inventory counts, and miscellaneous warehouse tasks as needed.

- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, such as low voltage wiring into switches, valves, actuators, etc. using a multimeter.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet timely and specific project deadlines
- Proficient computer skills and typing ability (Microsoft Office)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Kaizen systems
- Formal training in ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Familiarity with US National and Canadian Electrical Codes
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience working in quality control or technical based customer service role
- Reliable transportation during typical workweek hours (Monday through Friday, day shift only).
- Strong working knowledge of electrical principles and theory in low voltage DC applications.
