We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to support the day-to-day financial operations of our organization. This role will focus on managing Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, is proficient with accounting software, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Prepare and send customer invoices in a timely manner.
- Record and apply customer payments, including checks, ACH, and credit card transactions.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Coordinate with clients on billing discrepancies or payment issues.
- Maintain organized records of all AR activities.
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Review and process vendor bills and employee reimbursements.
- Ensure proper approvals and coding of expenses.
- Schedule and prepare payments via check, ACH, or wire.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all AP transactions.
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain general ledger entries and ensure data accuracy.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly closing procedures.
- Support preparation of financial reports as needed.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records for audits and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 2 years of experience in AR/AP and general bookkeeping.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with GAAP principles is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
- Understanding of tax regulations and compliance for AR/AP.
- Prior experience working in law firms and closings a PLUS

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
