Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing engineering projects within a manufacturing equipment repair environment. This includes overseeing project timelines, ensuring adherence to budget constraints, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and an ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering equipment repair projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget constraints.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, including technical drawings, reports, and presentations.
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Recommend and implement automation and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Develop and modify designs for machinery, tools, and equipment to meet project specifications.
- Ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of manufacturing systems and equipment.
- Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure project alignment with operational goals.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for equipment procurement and installation.
- Ensure that all engineering projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and company safety protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety reviews for manufacturing processes and systems.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in project engineering within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools.
- Experience in mechanical engineering, including analysis, troubleshooting, and technical support for products in various industries (e.g., oil & gas, automotive, manufacturing).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, engineering teams, and senior leadership.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for extended period.
