What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing HSE Supervisor position at ProFrac?
General Overview: Responsible for promoting all PF Holdings’ quality, safety, health, and environmental programs while continually expressing and enforcing the company’s commitment to safety. The HSE Supervisor has no direct reports but does assume the same authorities and responsibilities of other supervisory roles within the company especially in matters pertaining to loss control, employee safety, property damage or waste and environmental harm.
Responsibilities:
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and company policies in performing all related assessments.
- Will cross-train at other locations, as necessary, to gain required experience and training.
- Manages various aspects of manufacturing safety operations which may include pre-job planning and preparation, on site operations, on-site maintenance, safety, environmental assurance, and post job inventories and maintenance.
- Monitors employee performance and counsels or has input affecting the counseling of employees on safety performance related issues.
- Makes recommendations which may affect material terms and conditions of employees’ employment, including hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, compensation, disciplinary actions, or any other change of status of subordinate employees.
- Will know & understand all applicable policies.
- Will attend required safety meetings (onsite and off).
- Independently conducts facility and site safety meetings. Uses independent judgment and discretion to identify specific topics to be addressed at each meeting. Answers questions raised by employees and takes follow-up action, when necessary to resolve issues that arise during day-to-day operations and safety-related issues or occurrences.
- Conduct regular inspections, safety evaluations and ensures compliance. Provide report findings and support to endorse correction of related findings, inadequacies, and objectives.
- Conduct and or assist in accident investigations, coach business unit personnel on performing effective accident investigations.
- Evaluates issues raised by management and exercises independent judgment and discretion to determine proper protocol for implementing changes, when necessary, within the department.
- Responsible for enforcing all Operational Standards, SOPs and Policies.
- Responsible for enforcing / creating / implementing all Safety and Environmental Standards, SOPs and Policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Must possess ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Education: Preferred advanced recognized safety training or five years of service/management experience, preferably manufacturing related.
- Language: Must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently.
- The HSE Supervisor should have developed language skills that will allow communication with management personnel and co-workers.
- Work experience: Should have at least five years’ experience with a company performing manufacturing, machining and or industrial fabrication or maintenance.
- Interpretive Skills: Must be able to read, analyze and interpret OSHA, ANSI and other related code of federal regulations. (CFR)• Grammar: Must be able to author and/or review grammatically correct policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Effective communication skills will reflect a reasonable and professional use of grammar.
- Computer Capability: Must be able to use a personal computer. Must know how to use the following Microsoft software: Word - word processing, Excel - spreadsheet, PowerPoint - presentation
- Sensitive to confidential information.
- Must work independently and as a member of team.
- Must be able to support internal and external customers in the oilfield. Many of these customers work seven days per week and well past “normal” business hours. This position is equipped with a portable computer, and Internet access to allow the servicing of internal and external customers whenever the need arises.
- Must furnish personal cell phone for business use.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Position requires/subject to successful completion of functional capacity evaluation quantifying the essential functions of the position.
- Able to read, speak and write English.
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
- May be required to wear or use a respirator in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134.
- Position may be required to wear personal fall arrest systems and is subject to the limitations as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.140.
- Position may be subject to OSHA Medical Surveillance under 29 CFR 1910.1053.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- While performing essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneed, crouch, crawl, hear, talk, and smell.
- Working of irregular hours required.
- Travel, overnight and multiple stay is a requirement.
