Research and Development Technician

Job Description

ProFusion Industries, a highly regarded provider of transit step treads and transit flooring, custom specialty film products and protective linings is seeking a Research and Development Technician at its ISO 9000 certified Marietta, Ohio manufacturing facility. The R&D Technician performs laboratory evaluations to help develop, improve and qualify new products and raw materials.

Essential Functions:

• Creation of custom film color requests for wallcovering and specialty films.
• Conducts visual inspections and color checks of film and matting.
• Conducts physical testing to determine if recipe conform to customers specifications.
• Helps with plant trial and assist in trouble shooting quality and process problems.
• Issues documentation on all tests performed and submits corresponding reports.
• Provides technical support to manager, supervisor, and production staff when needed.
• Calibrates testing equipment as needed.
• Participates in the investigations returned goods and customer complaints.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalency required; degree in a technical discipline preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; degree in a technical discipline preferred.
• Three (3) years of technical experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Excellent color perception, and solid knowledge of color pigments and color theory.
• Good computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, with all levels in the organization.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams.
