Registered Nurse candidates for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Department will have the following job responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the surgical patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing, and provision of nursing care to patients (adult to geriatrics) in accordance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. As a Registered Nurse in the CVOR, some of your task and responsibilities will be to:
- Demonstrate awareness or opportunities for performance improvement in unit activities and assists with the development of action plans
- Skillful in setting priorities: · Performs specific nursing actions in a logical sequence. · Anticipates needs of the surgical team · Appropriately utilizes professional and ancillary personnel · Uses critical thinking and sound judgment · Responds to potential /actual emergency situations
- Review patient's records for pertinent info. · Verifies accuracy of consents · Verifies H&P &/or consultation · Reviews and reports abnormal data
- Respect patients' rights: · Provides for privacy by maintaining confidentiality · Identifies spiritual and ethical beliefs
- Provide psychosocial support to the surgical patient: · Comforts patient prior to induction through quiet relaxed atmosphere · Explains sequence of events · Informs patient of any delay, ensures notification of family members
- Properly positions the surgical patient: · Knows physiological consequences of positioning and individual patient limitations · Maintains patient dignity · Applies principle of body alignment and adapts them to varying situations during positioning · Pads pressure points as needed · Monitors patient area under contact pressure

Registered Nurse candidates for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Department must meet the following minimum job qualifications:
- 1 year of Open Heart (CVOR) RN experience in an Acute Care environment Required!
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required
- BSN is preferred
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA Healthcare provider) required
- CNOR preferred
Salary Range: $31.84- $46.26 (17 years of experience.)
On call pay: $4
Shift Differentials: $4.50 for nights, $1.50 weekend diff, and $1.50 for having a national certification
Sign On: Up to $15k
Relocation Assistance: Case by Case
Salary : $32 - $46
