As a key member of the firm’s growing construction services discipline, the CM Documentation Specialist will work with key clients in the Chicagoland area, performing construction documentation audits, office engineer and inspection services. In this dynamic role, you’ll blend field inspection expertise with meticulous documentation skills to support important road, bridge and transit initiatives.
The CM Documentation Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role. You will balance days at the field offices with remote work from home. Candidates must be self-driven and highly professional to ensure work is completed with excellence while maintaining a flexible schedule.
What You’ll Do :
Perform construction management documentation audits to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications.Electronically document pay quantities, material requirements, and contractor staffing in daily work reports.Assist in completing inspection of completed work for quality assurance.Measure and observe work progress to accurately track quantities for payment.Coordinate with materials inspectors to arrange for sampling and testing of work.Report contractor non-compliance or work deficiencies against the contracted drawings and specifications to the Resident Engineer or supervisor.Work closely with contractors, engineers, and other team members to maintain project standards.Work in a team atmosphere that balances collegiality and accountability.The Ideal Candidate will Bring :
5 years of experience in engineering or construction management.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or Certificate in Construction Management)Meticulous attention to detail, effective decision making skills, and strong organizational capabilitiesIllinois Tollway, IDOT, CDOT, Cook County, or CTA project experienceExperience with eBuilder database and / or MicroStation softwareRequired Experience :
2 years of experience in transportation construction field inspection and documentation requirementsIDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities CertificateMust possess a valid driver’s licenseMust be physically able to perform the duties of a field engineerCompensation and Benefits :
