Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those in nursing homes or requiring memory care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, patience, and a commitment to maintaining the dignity and independence of our clients.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide direct support to individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Lift and transfer clients safely as needed, utilizing proper techniques to prevent injury.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following hygiene protocols and safety guidelines.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
• Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the well-being of clients at all times.

Skills

• Strong ability to assist individuals with mobility challenges and daily tasks.
• Proficient in patient observation skills to identify changes in health status.
• Experience in memory care techniques for supporting individuals with dementia.
• Knowledge of direct support practices within a nursing home or similar setting.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
