What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative/Peer Support/Transportation Sp position at PROGRESS HOUSE INC?
The Residential Peer Support/Administrative/Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing basic support to the Program Manager and counselors, as well as recovery-oriented, culturally appropriate services that promote engagement, socialization, self-sufficiency, self-advocacy, natural supports and are trauma aware.
Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific Duties Include, but are not limited to:)
- Providing personalized peer support and case management to clients
- Attending collaborative meetings with medical, counseling and corporate staff members to share information, discuss best practices and case conference
- Collaborating and coordinating with other providers, community organizations, family members and other natural supports to achieve shared goals
- Developing and accessing recovery goals; helping to remove barriers to access
- Providing reassurance to clients in distress or crises

General clerical tasks, including but not limited to:
- Copying
- Filing
- Uploading documentation (e.g., DMC Verifications, After Visit Summaries, etc.)
- Scheduling and tracking physical examinations as well as TB tests for clients
- Monitoring Medi-Cal and/or SSI eligibility
- Managing medications (e.g., documentation, pick-up from local pharmacies, etc.)
- Triaging phone calls (VOIP, Cellular)
- Transporting clients to/from appointments
Required Qualifications:
- Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist by California Mental Health Services Authority, or in the process of certification therewith
- Understanding of recovery and resilience and peer support practices within the substance abuse disorder treatment context

Utilization of computer to complete program forms, prepare reports, log data and track referrals and linkages, specifically:

- Office Applications: Outlook, Excel, Word
- PDF (Adobe, etc.)

- Maintaining confidentiality of clients, records and information
- Providing personalized peer support
- Acting as a role model for clients, family members and parents/caregivers, and recognize the value of every individual’s recovery experience
Special Qualifications:
- Pre-Employment Investigative Background Check and Drug Test is required.
- Progress House, Inc. is a Drug-Free Workplace.
- Post-Hire TB Test is required; a post-hire, pre-employment physical including fitness for duty examination may also be required.
