DEFINITION
Performs a variety of quality control tests on products at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. Maintain a highly efficient stores area. Proactively stock and issue items in a timely manner. Sign for, verify quantities of, and ensure good condition of items being delivered to the facility. Conduct various weekly inventory counts of consumable items, raw materials, and finished goods to maintain and improve inventory accuracy. Work with the purchasing department on discrepancies with delivered items. Strive to achieve zero inventory stock outs. Facilitate the moving of product to the warehouse from manufacturing locations. Work with the Inventory Control Supervisor regarding deliveries to outside vendors and other errands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Quality
- Pulling random samples for raw materials/finished goods inspection.
- Conducting inspection of raw materials/finished goods products to ensure parts are in compliance with quality standards.
- Visual inspection
- Geometric/dimensional inspection
- Functional inspection
- Reporting non-conformities and results in database.
- Conducting capability study.
- Destroying scrapped parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Inventory Control
- Transportation for Products between stores area, warehouse, and production areas.
- Have knowledge of production workflow, recognize needed tasks/items, make proactive changes.
- Supply production floor workers with required consumables, as well as remove empty bins and discarded items from individual stations using the established notification system, allowing production workers to remain at their workstations.
- Move material and WIP bins to ensure availability for product lines.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate Kanban levels for items such as fasteners and individual components and boxing supplies.
- Transport completed product and raw materials to and from the MFG locations and warehouse locations in a timely and efficient manner. Drop loads at designated spots.
- Receiving
- Respond to receiving door using the pager system for small deliveries.
- Promptly receive in actual products brought to the company.
- Ensure that product received in is free from damage.
- Accurately verify the correct quantities and material from our vendors.
- Communicate with purchasing if discrepancies or damage is found
- Enter received items from vendors into inventory through the company’s ERP system.
- Receive and unload full truckloads of steel and overseas containers.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain strong working relationship with fellow employees and drivers for incoming deliveries.
- Identify, carry out and participate in projects focused on continual improvement.
- Communicate status of normal duties and special projects effectively with supervisor through weekly reports and quarterly plans.
- Become certified to safely use the forklift.
- Review and revise standard operating procedures.
- Assist in shipping responsibilities when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards as outlined.
- Performs other duties, as necessary.
