Mechanical and Electrical Expert

**Technical Advisor Position**: At Progress Rail, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Expert to join our team as a Technical Advisor. In this role, you will provide guidance on locomotive maintenance and operation, develop and deliver training materials, and conduct technical classes for internal and external customers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

• Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials on EMD equipment, including electrical systems.
• Provide technical advice to customers regarding proper maintenance practices and operation of product to maximize reliability and performance.
• Conduct training classes on various topics, including AC electrical systems, truck control, and IAC units.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure course content is current, accurate, and aligned with FRA and company rules and regulations.
• Work closely with the training team to develop new courses and update existing content.

**Requirements**:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree with a major in engineering or equivalent electrical or mechanical training preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and their application in locomotives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
