The Freight Specialist is responsible for all rates and routing instructions for the company. They will work direct with the Railroads to establish routing and pricing for each internal group. This position will also work with our Truckload suppliers on rating and booking.

Key Job Elements
- Maintain rail rates and routing for the company;
- Work directly with operations and upper management on rail projects and pricing;
- Submit and manage OT5 certifications for railcars at all facilities;
- Handle monthly SOX audits for Transportation Group;
- Maintain truckload rates and booking with truckload carriers;
- Work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operation;
- Various other tasks as assigned.
Education / Training
- High School Diploma; required.
- Bachelor's degree; preferred.
Qualifications and Experience
- Ability to pick up railroad rating structures and ethodology;
- Understanding of shipping documents and freight terms;
- Excellent geographical skills;
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and efficiently;
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to follow-up with internal/external customers on inquiries, requests and complaints;
- Ability to perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
