Make an Impact

A Design Strategy Intern works collaboratively with the Director of Strategy and Transformation (DST) and a variety of internal Architecture, Engineering, and Design professionals dedicated to driving impact and performance through design. The role's contribution will span from supporting discovery initiatives through data analysis and synthesis, to using storytelling and visual communication strategies to translate complex ideas into accessible, impactful narratives and visuals for a wide audience. A Design Strategy Intern will see tangible results of their work on organizational strategic initiatives and client consulting projects.

This role is for those who are curious, thoughtful, self-developing, independent thinking, and motivated to contribute to Progressive's growing impact.

The internship opportunity is available immediately with option to extend into Summer 2025. Weekly hours will be part-time and offers flexible hours based on the intern's class schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data from client projects to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Create visually engaging reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in designing and facilitating workshops using design thinking methods to test new approaches.
  • Create visualizations and infographics to support strategic planning efforts.
  • Assist in designing and facilitating change management initiatives and workshops with the DST.
  • Assist the development of tools to measure the impact of strategic initiatives on client projects and internal processes.
  • Document and analyze organizational workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and innovation.
  • Collaborate with internal Marketing & Communications team to ensure consistent brand standards and messaging.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program related to Design, Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field required.
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Ability to synthesize data into meaningful narratives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with a variety of team members
