We are seeking an experienced Concrete Crew Leader to oversee and lead our concrete crews on various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of concrete work, and the ability to manage a team effectively while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of concrete laborers and technicians on construction sites.
- Oversee the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete for foundations, slabs, driveways, sidewalks, and other structures.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Coordinate daily activities and set expectations for the crew to ensure optimal productivity.
- Provide hands-on leadership in setting up forms, mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete.
- Inspect the quality of work being completed, ensuring it meets industry standards.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Manage material quantities and inventory to ensure that the correct amount of concrete and supplies are on-site.
- Communicate with project managers and other stakeholders to update on project progress and any potential issues.
- Train and mentor new crew members, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise within the crew.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Assist in the preparation of daily reports and project documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in concrete construction, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Must be capable and willing to work hands on with your crew.
- Extensive knowledge of concrete materials, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and commitment to a safe work environment.
- Ability to operate various concrete tools and machinery (e.g., mixers, pumps, trowels).
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in all weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license
- OSHA certified
- High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Concrete finishing and decorative concrete experience.
- Previous experience working with larger teams and complex projects.
- Ability to plan and organize daily activities and tasks for the team.
