Under the direction and supervision of a RN or PMHNP, Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Director, assists with providing support to individuals in Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit. Work is performed daily with RCSU services staff and other medical providers. All work remains to the highest professional ethic standard and in compliance with the mission, values and guiding principles of the agency.
Provides nursing assessment; assesses health problems and appropriateness for RCSU.
Monitors clients response to treatment including medication side effects and adverse reactions.
Providing ongoing nursing to RCSU clients.
Educates clients and other staff on health promotion, prevention and treatment recommendations.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and other medical providers, families and community providers; communicates assessment information, treatment planning, interventions and crisis needs.
Promotes integration of care through consultation and collaboration with other health care providers
Participates in administrative and clinical staff meetings as required.
Collaborates with PMHNP for consultation when appropriate.
Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office.
Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.
Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations
Possess, keep, use and own a personal cell phone providing the cell phone number the administrative and clinical team.
Possess, keep, and check two times daily a valid Progressive Community Services email address.
Have access to and ability to use a computer, printer, internet services, and other necessary items and equipment to produce electronic program documentation / paperwork.
Thorough knowledge of practical nursing techniques and the care and treatment of all types of clients
Considerable knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health and safety practices
Skills in preparing and administering medications and general knowledge of proper dosage, effects and contradictions
Skill in the operation of general and specialized equipment used in the area of assignment
Ability to make astute observations of patients conditions and to report changes accurately
Current, unencumbered state RN or LPN license is required. Current, valid VA drivers licensed. Current CPR / first aid certification. Current TB Test, within the past year. Candidate must provide proof of licensure upon hire. Candidate must provide proof of or satisfactorily complete upon hire, all DBHDS required training.
