What are the responsibilities and job description for the Excavation Operator position at Progressive Construction Group?
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and other equipment typically used on construction job sites
- Excavate soil and other material from job site into trucks for transportation to appropriate location for disposal
- Excavation, grading and compaction of land surfaces using heavy equipment
- Be able to stand or walk on a project for extended hours
- When on a project site wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment
- Must be able to read drawings and layout stakes
- Must be able to comprehend and follow the daily/weekly work plan
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
- Must have reliable transportation
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
