Progressive Design, Inc. (PDI) is currently seeking a IT Systems Administrator . This is a full-time position that is located in Richmond, VA . We are seeking a qualified Systems Administrator to assist our team with questions and problems concerning computer systems, hardware, and software. The position will work with team members in person guiding them through system configurations and troubleshooting, while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency. Standout candidates will be excellent problem-solvers with outstanding communication and customer service skills and experience with engineering and design workflows and systems. Key Requirements & Responsibilities : Work alongside all members of the PDI team to ensure they can efficiently and effectively use technology resources. Manage key providers to support strategic initiatives related to data redundancy, network resiliency and latency, document management, and Microsoft 365 transition. Work closely with trusted advisors to ensure processes and systems are in place to mitigate and prevent cyber security threats and events. Work closely with senior leadership to develop, maintain and enforce internal policies necessary to ensure a robust and resilient technology infrastructure. Job Responsibilities : Proactively address team member needs via email, chat, phone, or in person : Workstation Setup Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (Active Directory) Provide technical support to end users Perform preventative and proactive maintenance : Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, and network devices Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues Implement system updates and security patches Document system configurations and procedures Front line of corporate technology, implementations, new technologies and preparing teams for use and supporting technologies throughout their lifecycle. Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices to continuously evaluate current and trending solutions and products to enhance productivity and improve cyber risk mitigation. Manage own time to fulfill tasks efficiently, in the correct priority and to the required level of quality, within the context of the objectives supplied by manager. Minimum Requirements / Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator and / or Desktop Support Analyst Experience with Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2019, 2022) Working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Working knowledge of MS Windows 10 and Windows 11 Strong understanding of network infrastructure concepts (e.g., TCP / IP, DNS) Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) Experience with monitoring and alerting tools Ability to work independently and as part of a team Benefits : We offer a fast paced, exciting work environment with a competitive compensation package including : Medical Benefits, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401K match and Tuition Reimbursement.
