What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specimen Collector position at Progressive Diagnostics?
A specimen collector is needed for a fast growing lab located in Trumbull, CT. This job requires travel to addiction recovery facilities located in Stamford, CT and possibly to other local medical facilities. The individual preforming this job must be detail-oriented and maintain a work ethic that is both efficient and accurate at all time. This individual will serve as the initial point of contact our laboratory has with the physician’s office staff and patients. Daily activities to be performed are described in further detail below.
Daily Responsibilities
· Obtaining daily testing schedule from the physician’s office.
· Preparing for upcoming patients to be tested.
· Obtaining demographics, insurance, and preparing requisition forms for patient and provider signatures.
· Scanning and uploading patient lab results.
· Preparing all specimens for transport to the lab.
· Organizing and keeping inventory of supplies needed for sample collection.

Education & Work Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Data entry and specimen collecting preferred.
Special Requirements
· Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at hand and maintain efficiency while multitasking.
· Must be receptive to feedback and be able to retain information once learned.
· Must be able to interact with patients and coworkers appropriately, respectfully and in a collaborative, team-focused manner.
Observed urine collection is performed, Male collector is preferred.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
