We’re seeking a high energy, organized Medical Insurance Billing specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position.
Job Description
Responsible for timely medical insurance billing and follow up for home health care services provided by the agency. To establish and/or verify proper billing protocol, and to prepare appeals for denied claims and resubmit and follow up on corrected claims to ensure payment by the various payer sources.
Requirements:
- 2 years recent work experience as a medical insurance billing specialist in a medical office or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 codes, Medi-Cal, commercial, and senior advantage plans.
- High School/GED acceptable; trade school/college medical administration certificate preferable.
- Excellent communication skills both written (emails, letters, faxes) and verbal (phone, one-on-one, group).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Basic PC and Internet browser search engine skills.
- Accurate Typing Skills (minimum 50 words per minute).
- Organized
- Self-starter
- Dependable (punctuality, attendance), and motivated
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment while multitasking.
- Ability to work well in a team setting
- High energy and professionalism a must!
