What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Communications Center Officer position at Progressive Insurance?
As an emergency communications officer you'll work as a console officer in the Emergency Communications Center (ECC). You'll be responsible for the support of the Progressive National Emergency hotline, including Security Manager / Business group notifications, emergency dispatch of security personnel, alarm monitoring and customer service requirements. You'll monitor various security and notification systems (both locally and nationally) and notify and dispatch the appropriate personnel of alarms and/or required actions. You'll be responsible for generating incident reports through our on-line incident reporting system. Must have qualifications - High School diploma or GED equivalent - Minimum of three years of security supervisory/security console operator related experience or three years military/law enforcement experience Schedule: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm EST, Friday - Tuesday (Wednesdays & Thursdays off) (The flexibility to work shifts in support of the 24x7 work environment, including holidays and weekends and the ability to work overtime, if necessary) Preferred Skills - Physical Security Professional (PSP) or other ASIS certificate - Use time and resources effectively to ensure Physical Security goals are met - Able to maintain professional demeanor, strong customer service and productivity during stressful work situations - Solid verbal and written communication skills and proven computer knowledge to include all Microsoft applications - Understanding of all Physical Security systems (Access Control, CCTV and Incident Reporting Programs) global notification protocols Compensation - $23.25 - $29.00/hour - Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance - An additional 10% when you work evening or weekend hours Benefits - 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 6% - Medical, dental & vision, including free preventative care - Wellness & mental health programs - Health care flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, & life insurance - Paid time off - Paid & unpaid sick leave where applicable, as well as short & long-term disability - Parental & family leave; military leave & pay - Diverse, inclusive & welcoming culture with Employee Resource Groups Equal Opportunity Employer
