What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Inventory Specialist position at Progressive Manufacturing, Inc.?
We’re looking for a Materials Inventory Specialist to join our team in Newport, NH. This role is critical to keeping our assembly operation running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the assembly team has the components they need—both purchased parts and in-house manufactured items—when they need them. This includes managing inventory levels, coordinating with purchasing and production, and receiving incoming materials from suppliers.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production needs
- Work closely with the assembly team to ensure component availability
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments from suppliers
- Track inventory movement and maintain accurate records in the system
- Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and production to forecast material needs
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies or shortages
- Support inventory cycle counts and audits

- Familiarity with gas appliance components or similar mechanical assemblies
- Forklift certification or willingness to get certified
