What are the responsibilities and job description for the NP/PA for outpatient Neurology and Sleep position at Progressive Neurology and Sleep Center?
A certified NP or PA with neurology experience would typically work as a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and examinations to diagnose and treat neurological conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (such as MRI, CT scan, EEG, EMG, etc.) and laboratory tests
- Prescribe medications and therapies, including management of acute and chronic pain
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the neurologist or other healthcare providers
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding neurological conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Participate in multidisciplinary care teams, including consultations with other specialists and healthcare professionals
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of neurology research, guidelines, and best practices
Qualifications:
- Certification as an NP or PA
- Licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Virginia
- Completion of a master's degree program in nursing or physician assistant studies
- At least 2-3 years of clinical experience in neurology (preferably in an outpatient or inpatient setting) preferred but new graduates welcome to apply
- Strong knowledge of neurology anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies.-
- Experience in Neurology, Sleep disorders or Autonomic disorders a plus though not required
