Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable):
Education: Minimum requirement of high school diploma or GED. Work requires knowledge of basic math, reading and writing skills; and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Work experience: Work requires familiarity with proper cleaning methods, equipment and techniques. A minimum of six months experience in and institutional establishment (hospital, nursing home, etc.) as housekeeper is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Work requires familiarity with proper cleaning methods, equipment and techniques. Experience in an institutional establishment (hospital, nursing home, etc.) as housekeeper is required.
Interpersonal Skills: Must have manual dexterity to handle cleaning equipment efficiently and safely. Must have the ability to lift and bend. Must have knowledge of program policies and procedures regarding infection control and sanitation. Must possess customer services expertise. Organizes and prioritizes work.
General Performance: Displays willingness to help others. Uses appropriate customer etiquette, e.g., telephone, conversation, demeanor, etc. Takes directions well, accepts constructive criticism and responds accordingly. Maintain interior and exterior of all buildings in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
- Clean all interior settings per departmental procedures.
- Clean all exterior settings per departmental procedures. rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges
- Ensure clean rooms, bathrooms, and freshly made beds for every new admission.
- Wash bed linens and towels.
- Replenish housekeeping supplies as needed i.e., hand washing liquid, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc.
Maintain proper housekeeping logs on a daily basis.
