Job Summary: The supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the Fabrication Shop. Ensuring all safety requirements are maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise a shift of approximately 25-35 employees ensuring safety is always at the forefront and quality requirements are met while maintaining acceptable productivity levels
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to scheduling requirements
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Maintain a trusting relationship with work group, manage and develop shift staff
- Commit to plant safety procedures
- Address employees’ issues and work with Shop Manager to address
- Other duties as assigned
- Proven working experience as a production shift supervisor, managing production employees
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Be knowledgeable of safety and quality
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Experience training employees who have different learning methods.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Able to adapt to constant changing schedule
- Ability to always remain flexible
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
