Overview:
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Infrastructure, the Director of IT Infrastructure oversees technology infrastructure, systems, and end-user services. This role ensures scalability, security, and alignment with business goals. You will lead teams, manage budgets, and implement a multi-year IT strategy in support of a 5-year Technology Roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the development of the infrastructure strategy, including storage, compute, and virtualization environments, ensuring scalability and alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with business leaders and IT teams to assess current and future infrastructure needs and align them with the strategic objectives.
- Drive containerization strategy to support application scalability and system performance.
- Provide financial inputs for a 5-year technology forecast, supporting critical infrastructure projects while ensuring budgetary alignment.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable infrastructure solutions.
- Lead efforts in risk management, innovation, and continuous improvements across IT infrastructure operations.
IT Systems Infrastructure Operations:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of storage, compute, and virtualization infrastructure.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation (e.g., disaster recovery plans) is maintained to support business continuity.
- Lead compliance audits, manage disaster recovery processes, and ensure alignment with security policies.
- Monitor system performance and drive continuous optimization of systems for improved uptime and efficiency.
- Ensure all infrastructure meets security and compliance standards, supporting the company s threat vulnerability management initiatives.
- Manage Linux-based systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.) and containerized applications to ensure high availability and security.
Resource and Financial Management:
- Direct the research and procurement of hardware, software, and systems, ensuring cost-effective, scalable solutions.
- Lead the budget planning process for IT infrastructure, aligning financial resources with technology goals.
- Conduct cost-benefit and ROI analyses for proposed projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, overseeing contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
- Lead recruitment, development, and retention of the IT Infrastructure and Systems Engineering teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
End User Services:
- Oversee IT Service Desk operations, ensuring efficient support and issue resolution for corporate and remote offices.
- Manage the lifecycle of end-user devices, optimizing resources to meet nationwide demands.
- Collaborate with IT resource teams to ensure tools, services, and staff are efficiently allocated for maximum impact.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies related to hardware, security, and software licensing, while leading risk mitigation and disaster recovery efforts.
- Oversee Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to ensure secure and efficient device management across the organization.
- Promote end-user training and knowledge sharing through well-documented, user-friendly resources, driving productivity and self-service capabilities.
Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred:& Master s degree, CISSP, RHCE, ITIL V4 certification.
Experience:
- 10 years of progressive experience managing IT infrastructure and systems engineering, with expertise in Linux environments.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale infrastructure projects, aligning IT strategy with business goals, and managing geographically distributed teams.
- Strong background in IT operations, systems architecture, information security, and cloud services.
- Experience in strategic planning, resource optimization, and budget management for IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with ITIL V4 best practices and industry standards.
Technical Skills:
- Linux Enterprise Server Platforms: Extensive experience with Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS in enterprise environments.
- Windows Server Cloud Integration: Experience with Windows environments and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Virtualization: Expertise in hypervisor technologies (VMware, Proxmox, KVM) for scalable infrastructure management.
- Containerization Orchestration: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and other container technologies.
- Backup Disaster Recovery: Experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik, Veeam) and disaster recovery planning.
- Database Management: Expertise in managing and optimizing PostgreSQL and other databases.
