Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to support sales goals and business objectives
- Work closely with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with stores and distribution centers to ensure optimal inventory levels
- Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions
- Maintain and update purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and merchandising, to support product launches and promotions
- Assist in evaluating new product opportunities and making recommendations based on customer demand and industry trends
- Ensure timely follow-up on orders, deliveries, and vendor performance issues
- Support the Director of Purchasing with administrative tasks, reporting, and special projects as needed
- Time Management: As a buyer you will work with multiple stores, departments, and suppliers across country, you’ll have to create schedules, orders and reports. Time management is essential to make sure everything gets done
- Math and Budgeting: As a buyer you are expected to stay within a budget for your departments, and make sure. Confidence in using math skills to make sure you know where your company's money is going
- 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, merchandising, or a related retail environment (preferred but not required)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and trends
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with inventory management or purchasing software is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting
- Passion for retail and an understanding of the customer shopping experience
- Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift merchandise, boxes, products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Bending/Stooping: Bends to stock, arrange, clean, and take pictures of merchandise at lower levels
- Reaching/Grabbing: Reaches up to the top shelf for merchandise/products
- Pushing/Pulling: Pushes and pulls boxes of merchandise to set up displays
- Standing/Sitting: Standing or sitting for extended periods of time while merchandising and interacting with vendors
- Vision/Hearing/Speech: Must be able to read company information, labeling on merchandise, memos, safety information, etc. Must have adequate hearing to converse with customers, answer the phone, etc. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner
- Sick time per company policy and Colorado sick leave which is currently 48 hours or 6 days per year accrued at 1.0 hour for every 30 hours worked
- Vacation Pay will accrue per company policy 302. Employees will accrue 40 hours of paid vacation by the end of their first year, or at a rate of 1.54 hours per pay period. Years 2–5, you will accrue at a rate of 3.08 hours per pay period for a total of 80 hours. Years 6-10, you will accrue at a rate of 4.62 hours per pay period for a total of 120 hours. Years 11-15, you will accrue at a rate of 6.16 hours per pay period for a total of 160 hours. Year 15 , you will accrue at a rate of 7.70 hours per pay period for a total of 200 hours
- Medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability and short term disability insurance in accordance with the company policy. All benefits have a 30-day waiting period with the company paying 85% of the employee only portion of the Medical monthly premium
