MEDICAL BILLING / REVENUE CYCLE MANAGER (Permanent)
Our client, an established local medical office in WNY, is looking to hire a Medical Billing / Revenue Cycle Manager to join their team. This position is open due to an upcoming retirement and reports directly to the Practice Administrator.
Responsibilities :
- Manage / own the Billing processes for 4 office locations; regularly audit processes to determine areas for improvement to increase efficiencies
- Manage, mentor, and train six (6) full-time employees in the billing department—Coders, Billers, etc.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure accurate and timely completion
- Conduct annual performance reviews for each direct report; meet with Practice Administrator to discuss successes / shortcomings as well as potential raises / promotions / disciplinary actions
- Create and implement performance action plans for employees with less than desirable annual review outcomes, holding them accountable for their responsibilities and actions
- Ensure all insurance / patient payments are entered into system accurately and in a timely manner
- Create all charges / bills from Nextech charts to Billing system
- Develop positive relationships within each office to encourage effective upfront money collection from patients by front desk employees
- Maintain a positive & supportive work environment in order to drive performance
- Collaborate with outsourced dispensary used for medical products if billing requirements overlap
- Monitor aging insurance reports and patient account balances, working them when necessary
- Audit clearinghouse reports to ensure claims are filed correctly, troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Follow up with outside collections company handling past due accounts on a monthly basis, sending new delinquent accounts after reviewing Dunning Reports
- Participate in manager meetings and weekly staff meetings to ensure transparency is maintained regarding Billing department issues & updates
- Ensure credentialing for new / existing doctors is up-to-date or renewed regarding both insurance and hospital requirements
- Attend seminars and perform research on medical billings practices / regulations in order to remain current with internal processes—relay changes to doctors, administration, & staff
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines is maintained at all times
- Maintain proficient knowledge with ICD-10 & CPT coding
- Work on several special projects at a given time, maneuvering from one to another with ease
- Other duties as assigned / as necessary
Details :
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
