QUALITY MANAGER (Permanent)
Our client, an established international manufacturing organization near Toledo, OH, is looking to hire a Quality Manager to join their team. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is open due to a promotion.
Responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain the QMS (Quality Management System); quality system auditing
- Create and maintain Quality SOPs (standard operating procedures), SPC (statistical process control) charts, and product specifications; ensure proper implementation; analyze regularly for effectiveness and adjust when necessary
- Oversee the inspection of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Manage 3 Chemists (direct reports) as well as several technicians (indirect reports), providing guidance, mentorship, and training
- Oversee the quality processes relating to mechanical test laboratories to ensure passing inspections, certifications, and calibrations
- Manage the internal / external laboratory inspection processes—supervising / scheduling necessary personnel, coordinating equipment maintenance / calibration, and providing lab support to engineering
- Ensure interpretations and certifications of material test results are properly documented to include metallographic / physical analysis, chemistry, hardness, etc.
- Remain up-to-date with various Quality certifications and accreditations (ISO17025, AS9100, Nadcap MTL & HT) in order to effectively own / manage the Quality processes in the organization
- Ensure laboratory operations are conducted in a safe environment and in accordance with safety regulations / company guidelines
- Other duties as assigned / as necessary
