Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Duties
- Provide direct support and assistance in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist individuals in following their care plans, ensuring that all prescribed therapies and activities are completed.
- Lift and transfer patients safely as needed while maintaining their comfort and dignity.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of individuals in care.
- Implement hospice care protocols when necessary, providing compassionate end-of-life support.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and document any changes in condition or behavior.
- Administer first aid as required and respond appropriately to emergencies.
Experience
- Previous experience in direct support roles or home community care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, vital signs assessment, and medication administration is advantageous.
- Knowledge of care plans and hospice care practices will be beneficial for this role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach are essential for success in this position.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
