What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Health Physician position at ProgressiveHealth?
We are looking for a Physician to join our team to support a major manufacturer in Canton, MS with an onsite health and wellness clinic for our client's employees. This position will provide collaborative oversight of medical staff with occupational care and health improvement services. What will you be doing in this role?
- Providing direct, onsite patient care services and other professional services to meet client-requested coverage hours along with formulating and administering health programs and clinic protocols, as needed
- Providing episodic, occupational, acute, and preventative health care to patients
- Conducting histories and physical examinations and prescribing medications and/or medical treatments based on evidence-based practice standards
- Collaborating with the client, nursing staff, and the operations team in determining, executing, and implementing protocols, formularies, emergency plans, and quality assurance programs for the clinic under the state laws, rules, and regulations governing collaborative relationships
- Be readily available to give consultation in the provision of health care to patients
- Personally review charts monitored or written by each nursing staff member and make a personal review of the historical, physical, and therapeutic data and certify by signature on any patient within thirty (30) days
- Providing guidance and education to any additional clinical staff as appropriate
Our ideal candidate will have:
- An unlimited license to practice medicine along with active prescriptive authority for both legend drugs and controlled substances in the state
- Be able to maintain good standing with a valid United States Drug Enforcement Agency registration number
- Board-Certified in Family Practice, Primary Care, Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
- Not currently have any professional disciplinary proceeding of any state or federal authorities or to any disciplinary action of any medical facility in any jurisdiction
- Has never been excluded, suspended, or otherwise sanctioned by Medicare, Medicaid, or any other third-party payor, nor listed on any state or government list of excluded individuals, parties, or specially designated nationals list as debarred, excluded, or otherwise ineligible for participation in government healthcare programs.
- The required state licensure, certification, and registration that is in good standing with the state or the ability to obtain the required state licensure
- CPR/AED/BLS certification or the ability to obtain it prior to start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
- A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
- Be able to maintain confidentiality
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
