ProGro Partners is a sister company to Olson’s Greenhouse. We focus on the maintenance and service of our plants and suppliers inside big box stores. We service many plant, Tree and shrub suppliers inside Walmart, Home Depot, Costco and Sam’s Club. As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for the maintenance of garden center products. This will include placing, organizing, caring for, and merchandising a variety of live goods, helping both the green team (trees and shrubs) and the color categories. Merchandisers must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while handling a large quantity of perishable products. While you will report to an Area Manager, being able to work with minimal supervision while still being efficient is key to succeeding in this role.
Merchandisers will be hired as seasonal employees. In most cases, this includes hours from April to the end of June/beginning of July but is subject to location, sales, weather, and seasonal needs. Due to the seasonality of our business, hours will fluctuate during this time period.
Area Manager will coordinate the needs along with your availability.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains merchandising standards through the execution of live goods programs.
- communicate regularly with lead and area manager.
- Consolidate and Cull plants according to standards set by manager
- Place product in designated area for optimal presentation
- Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to make quick decisions
- Maintain calm and positive attitude towards all customers, associates, managers, and co-workers Report daily to Area Manager: Needs, Issues, Opportunities, etc.
Qualifications:
- Experience or desire to learn about plants and retail merchandising.
- Ability to carefully follow direction.
- Pays strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow through and complete all tasks.
- Availability, including weekends and key holidays during peak season as needed.
- Fluency to read and understand the English language.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in all outdoor elements.
- Walk and stand, bend, and stoop for an entire shift.
- Pull/Push racks of product, bending, walking and lifting planters up to 50 lbs.
- Lift or carry up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Lift a minimum of 19 lbs. over your head
- perform buddy lifts up to 100lbs.
