GENERAL SUMMARY

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s multi-state payroll processing objectives with a high degree of confidentiality. This position requires a detail-orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll for New York and New Jersey states.
  • Runs reports from EHR system to reconcile and process dentist's payroll and commission.
  • Prepares and processes monthly provider commissions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Adds new hires and temporary employees to the ADP payroll system with accuracy.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Ensures and assists managers in proper completion of timesheets and other payroll documents.
  • Reviews and processes quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws including payroll, taxes, withholding, deductions and garnishments.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient with payroll software particularly ADP WorkforceNow.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
