Position Summary:
As a Patient Coordinator, this person will be the first point of contact for New York Proton Center. This person will welcome patients and greet people who visit New York Proton Center. Additional responsibilities include maintaining patient schedules, confirming appointments, distributing correspondences, receiving and redirecting phone calls, monitoring staff and physician on-site availability, and other front desk responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors as they arrive at the center
- Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate person or office
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
- Check patients in and out and process co-payments, as appropriate
- Schedule and maintain patient appointments
- Confirm patient appointments scheduled for the following day
- Maintain and efficiently manage moderate call volumes
- Update center calendars and schedule meetings, as appropriate
- Accurately complete and input patient intake and satisfaction forms
- Verify, scan and record patient insurance information
- Communicate with patients about changes in their schedule or treatment time
- Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Perform other job-related duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of one-year medical office front desk experience, required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
