Drive Success in Revenue Cycle Management

We’re seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join a growing team and contribute to the success of their revenue cycle operations. This role involves critical responsibilities such as charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable/follow-up to ensure optimal cash flow and accurate billing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Post daily charges, payments, and rejections with accuracy and timeliness.
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to confirm correct application of payments and adjustments.
• Manage the full cycle of insurance claims, including submitting appeals, correcting claims, and resolving outstanding balances.
• Handle secondary insurance billing and patient balances with professionalism.
• Conduct account aging reviews, prioritize collections, and execute effective follow-up strategies.
• Generate and send patient statements while addressing overdue accounts in line with policies.
• Verify insurance eligibility through phone or online systems to ensure accurate billing.
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate with insurance carriers for claims resolution.
• Prepare bank deposits, balance daily reports, and resolve returned checks as needed.
• Provide support to patients, insurance companies, and internal teams by addressing billing inquiries.
• Stay current with ICD and CPT codes, particularly in ophthalmology and optometry billing practices.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or collections preferred.

Skills & Attributes:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and internet-based applications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
