What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Club Provider position at Project Connection?
Project Connection is a nonprofit mental health clinic dedicated to providing trauma-informed care to children, families, and adults. We are seeking a part-time male group leader for our youth club program.
Our Youth Club provides children ages 7- 17 opportunities to engage with their community and foster meaningful connections with other children in a small, closely knit group of 4-6 individuals. By participating in the Youth Club, children can develop relationships, gain confidence, and explore the world around them. Importantly, this program also offers caregivers valuable respite, giving them the chance to focus on self-care and connect with other family members and partners.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Youth Club Provider must be able to pass a background check and have excellent relationship skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills.
· Youth Club Providers meet with a dedicated group of 4-6 children, ages 7- 17, once per week for 4- 8 hours each week. During the school year, groups generally run after school or on the weekends, depending on the availability of the group leader and families.
· Youth Club Providers collaborate with the children to develop plans for engaging outings, to provide opportunities for relationship building and exploring our community. Examples are, getting out in nature, going to local attractions such as the zoo, Red Butte Garden, bowling, sporting events, theater productions etc.
· Youth Cub Providers are responsible for coordinating times/dates with families and for providing transportation in their own vehicle.
· Other responsibilities include weekly documentation, attending monthly team meetings, assisting children in developing regulation social skills through mentorship during group hours, and ensuring ongoing safety and rapport of the group.
