Job Summary: As an Early Childhood Educator at Project Dance, you will have the exciting opportunity to introduce young children (ages 3-5) to the world of dance and movement. You will create a positive and nurturing learning environment where children can explore dance, develop motor skills, and build a strong foundation for future dance education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dance Instruction:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons that engage preschool-aged children.
- Teach fundamental dance techniques and creative movement through a variety of dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, creative movement).
- Adapt teaching methods to suit the individual needs and abilities of each child.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment.
- Manage behavior and ensure discipline is handled with care and respect.
- Encourage participation, cooperation, and teamwork among students.
- Parent and Student Communication:
- Establish open and effective communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and studio events.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and meetings as needed.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with trends and best practices in early childhood dance education through continuous learning and training.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching dance to preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Experience working with babies and young children is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
- A background in dance education, early childhood education, or a related field is a plus.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is preferred.
