JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Client Advocate

Position Summary:
Project Dove provides shelter and emergency services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking in Malheur County, Oregon. Victims are typically experiencing trauma and Advocates work directly with the victims, providing the services needed to move clients from victims to survivors.
Responsibilities
· Provides case management and crisis intervention services
· Maintain confidentiality of victims and their families
· Ensures compliance with policies and procedures
· Provides safety plan and resources for clients
· Answer crisis calls as necessary. On call as well
· Provide basic advocacy services for victims including:
o Crisis advocate, intakes, & safety planning
o Provide referrals to other agencies for services
o Provide accurate & sensitive information on domestic violence & sexual assault
o Follow-up contacts & services
o Transport & accompany clients to appointments, meetings, hearings, etc.
o Assist in obtaining assistance from criminal justice, medical, and social agencies
· Work effectively with other programs of Project DOVE
· Keep accurate files & records in Osnium; submit reports on time
· Be familiar with and maintain positive working relationships with other community organizations
· Attend additional training to increase job related knowledge & skills
· Will perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Qualifications:
· Must pass criminal background check
· Applicants need a valid driver's license
· Advocates should possess empathy and understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and sexual assault
· Ability to provide quality services to people of all racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds
· Manage time and work independently and in a team to accomplish program goals
· Staff cases and client needs with Lead Advocate on a weekly basis
· Ability to handle phone calls in a pleasant and efficient manner.
· Possess time management, organizational and goal setting skills
· Ability to handle several tasks at once
· Ability to work well with staff, clients, and various community agencies.
· Possess computer literacy skills: WORD, EXCEL and Outlook
· Needs basic knowledge of office machine operations
· Ability to keep accurate statistical records and reports
· Obtain CPR certification within 90 days of hire date
· Must complete Project DOVE basic victim advocacy training
· Provides case management and crisis intervention services
· Maintain confidentiality of victims and their families
· Ensures compliance with policies and procedures
· Provides safety plan and resources for clients
· Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
