What Your Day Will Look Like:
Engineering Designer for Portland, OR to lead planning, analysis & design of bridge engineering projects; contribute to developing engineering basis of design; review preliminary & final designs, plans, specifications and construction estimates; develop engineering calculations & reports; ensure adherence to applicable codes & engineering standards; support construction activities; collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines; mentor & train junior engineers and technicians. Requires Master’s in Civil Engineering & 2 yrs experience working on engineering projects delivered through design-bid-build and/or design-build methods; working with federal & state bridge design standards, including AASHTO LRFD standards; developing design drawings & special provisions; designing bridge components, including concrete & steel superstructures and concrete substructures; designing retaining walls, buried structures & fish passage structures; performing bridge load ratings; developing construction staging analysis; working with site-specific ground motion hazard analysis; conducting seismic design & analyses, including pushover, response spectrum & non-linear time history analyses; and using LEAP Bridge, CSiBridge, SAP2000, midas Civil, LRFD Simon, AASHTOware, BRASS-Girder, LPILE, spColumn, AutoCad, and/or MicroStation software packages.
