Employment Position: Acquisition Specialist
Location: Fort Chaffee, Arkansas
This position is for a full-time Acquisition Specialist onsite at the Office of Secure Transportation (OST) facility at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of acquisition packages.
- Coordinate, prepare, submit and track procurements of supplies, equipment and services.
- Maintain required documentation of disposition of supplies and equipment.
- Provide customer support to Office of Secure Transportation federal program managers.
- Provide support for other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a four-year degree (or high school diploma or state equivalent and 4 years of experience) plus 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Relevant experience for this position involves experience in procuring items/supplies (including market research and development of purchase request) and payment/reconciliation for private or government sector.
- Proficiency in use of all Microsoft Office applications to include SharePoint.
- Familiarity with government systems such as iPORTAL, STRIPES and FAST.
- Familiarity with Government Procurement Regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain an “L” security clearance. The candidate’s written consent to conduct a background check for the purposes of maintaining a security clearance will be required as a condition of employment.
- Pre-employment and ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances will be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access to DOE sites. The candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests will be required as a condition of employment.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with processing, storage and transmittal of controlled unclassified information.
- Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to define and achieve goals with little supervision.
Physical Demands:
- Able to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.
