Job Description:
Project GPR is seeking a motivated Private Utility Locator to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utilities on private property to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. No prior utility locating experience is required—we provide training! However, experience working in construction or physically demanding jobs is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the Cincinnati market through in person sales calls and other sales related activities
- Conduct private utility locating using electromagnetic induction, GPR, and other detection methods.
- Accurately mark and document the location of underground utilities, including gas, water, electrical, telecom, and sewer lines.
- Read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and site plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers to provide accurate locating services.
- Follow safety procedures and industry standards to prevent damage to underground utilities.
- Maintain and calibrate locating equipment for optimal performance.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of findings using excel, word, outlook, and several other software applications.
Qualifications:
- No experience required—we provide training!
- Experience in construction or physically demanding jobs is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and people skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in hot and cold conditions.
- Willingness and capability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
