Job Summary: The restroom attendant is a custodial, hospitality and outreach position at the Central Branch of the Free Library. Attendants monitor and clean the restrooms. Attendants ensure the public follow the standards of conduct outlined by the Free Library of Philadelphia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Greet and acknowledge visitors as they enter and exit the restroom;
Monitor the restroom cleanliness, safety and welcome environment of the restroom space; anticipate the needs of an individual or group;
Walk through the restroom to check cleanliness and make your presence known to patrons;
Re-stock restroom supplies as needed;
Check the walls of each stall for graffiti and for other property damage throughout the space;
Report any maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department;
Notify Outreach Coordination Center if a patron may need homeless support services;
Notify Free Library security in case of emergencies.
Contribute to an organizational culture that encourages working, recovery and empowerment;
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current resident of Project HOME housing;
Willingness to talk to customers, volunteers and residents in individual and group public setting;
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset;
Accountable and solution oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of and commitment to Project HOME mission.
